Megin Nichols serves as the Director in the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne and Environmental Diseases. In this role, she works to improve public health nationally and internationally through the prevention and control of disease, disability, and death caused by foodborne, waterborne, and environmentally transmitted infections. She has over 15 years of zoonotic disease experience and has served at the federal and state levels. Dr. Nichols has also served as the lead of the Enteric Zoonoses Team investigating multistate outbreaks of Salmonella and E. coli. Prior to joining CDC, Dr. Nichols worked as the Principal Investigator of the Active Bacterial Core Surveillance Program at the New Mexico Department of Health for 5 years. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from New Mexico State University, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and a Master of Public Health in xem bóng đá số Safety and Biosecurity from the University of Minnesota. She is board certified in veterinary preventive medicine and her areas of interest include zoonotic disease, xem bóng đá số safety, and pediatric health.
